I found this over at Boing Boing, and I thought that since I had nothing to post as of late, I might as well make note of this.

According to Cory Doctorow, the ring is made from a real Octopus tentacle which has drilled, carved, shaped and cast in sterling silver.
Its both cool and unique, but I don’t think that I would propose to someone with it.

I can’t stop watching this. What a great video, of a great guy.
Bourdon killed in crash May 29, 2008

Vancouver Canucks defenceman Luc Bourdon was killed in a motorcycle accident in northern New Brunswick on Thursday. He was 21.
Bourdon, a promising young defenceman who played his junior hockey with the Moncton Wildcats, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Val d’Or Foreurs of the QMJHL, split his first pro season in 2007-08 between Vancouver and the American Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose.
He scored two goals and was a plus-7 in 27 games with the Canucks last season.
“Luc was a winner, he was a competitor,” said Kent Hughes, his agent. “There was no quit in him. He persevered through a lot. He was a great guy and a great teammate.”
Hughes added that he never knew about his client’s new hobby. “I had no idea,” he explained to CKNW in Vancouver. “Another client of ours, Kris Letang, said Luc let him know he was riding his dad’s motorcycle with some friends a week or two ago. I have since been told – though I don’t know – that he actually bought a motorcycle two days ago.” Full Story
This is a sad story. Its always sad to see such great talents die before their time. He had the potential to be one of the great defencemen in the NHL.
Rest In Peace Luc.
Sundin still not sure May 29, 2008

Toronto Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin still hasn’t made up his mind about playing next season.
“I’m still thinking about what to do,” said Sundin, who was speaking at Wednesday’s NHL Players Foundation awards luncheon and picking up the Mark Messier Leadership Award. “I’ll see how I feel physically.”
Sundin, who hasn’t spoken to Toronto Maple Leafs interim general manager Cliff Fletcher since the end of the season and has no talks planned with the team, can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.
While he repeated that he’d like to finish his career as a Leaf, Sundin wants to see what happens with the Toronto management situation before deciding anything.
He was unusually blunt in laying out one condition for his return to the Leafs.
“For me to come back to Toronto, Toronto has to really show they want me back,” Sundin said.
He also hinted that how the Leafs’ search for a GM and coach goes might make him consider other teams. Full Story
I have no problem with the fact that he wants to finish as a Leaf, but if he is thinking about joining another team, he should have let Toronto trade him at the deadline so they could have got something in return.
There is going to be non-stop talk about Sundin until he comes out with his final decision, which I think he already has made.

I love Jennifer Hedger, she is the dream girl to any male Canadian sports fan, and the hottest video ever can be found on Youtube. For those who don’t know who she is, Jes Golbez sums it up nicely.
My only wish is that I was the one making out with her.

Well not everyone, but a lot of people have posted this great video on Stanley’s cup, so I guess I will do the same, since this blog is a fine line between sarcastic/babe blog, and a sports blog.
I would have gotten so frustrated trying to put all those clips together.

I am too tired to write a full post, but this is a cool fact anyway.

The Nashville Predators have had nine first round draft picks in their ten year history, three of them are currently on the Flyers roster. They are Scott Hartnell (2000, 6th overall), Scottie Upshall (2002, 6th overall), and Ryan Parent (2005, 18th overall).

I checked my stats today like I do everyday, and I noticed that they were unusually high, when I looked at where all of them were coming from, it was the Yahoo Sports blog, Puck Daddy.
Although the piece is bashing the Flyers, and is by a Capitals fan who still seems to be upset about a first round exit from the playoffs, I am still very happy to be in the piece.
What?
Vengeance never, my friends, vengeance never. It’s been that way in the City of Brotherly Love for the past twenty-five years, and probably will be that way for the next twenty-five.
That may be so, but the Flyers future is just a bright as the Captials, especially with Claude Giroux and James Van Riemsdyk on their way. No Caps fan can argue that they are just a young team, and that they are only starting to become a great team, because the same rule applies to the Flyers.
But, I don’t blame him for talking about the Flyers like that, because he cheers for the Caps, and if they put the Flyers out in the first round I would feel the same way. Thanks for the link!

I found this picture at The Sugar Sheet, which is a blog from one of the hilarious guys at KSK. This is way better than anything you can find at I Can Has Cheese Burger.

No one can argue that this isn’t the best animal caption ever.
